As a line fromForty Carats%u201d states, %u201c all anyone really has is right now ...so why not? The Heights Players kicked off their twenty-fourth season of superlative community theater with Jill Fuchs directing %u201c Forty Carats%u201d and if you miss seeing it, you%u2019ll really miss out on more than a good thing. The production is a gem.The players arc perfectly cast and add to the sheer fun of it all. Julie Kcstyn is delightful as a lady executive considering the amorous attention of a younger man, played perfectly by Tim 0 Rourke. Kestyn has an excellent sense of comic delivery and a most lovely stage presence. Kenneth Fuchs, as her ex-husband, or at least one of them, will crack you up as a struggling middle-aged actor. Dorothy Ott plays her mother so convincingly, you want to give her a season pass to Lawrence Wclk performances.Ott loves to perform, being a long-time member of the troupe, and her skill shines through every part she has played. Ed Herman, the forty plus man in love with a high school girl, is also a riot as he delivers his lines with the air of a proper Southern gentleman. Frances Fuchs, the high school girl, allows the audience to sense the feel of an elusive age which may be characterized by liberation. Karen Richter and John Bourne, play the parents of our love-smitten twenty-two year old, and are so good and hilarious, you almost want them to be on stage longer.Minor roles are also played perfectly by Joan Larkin as a hardworking secretary, Evelyn McLean as a professional apartment hunter, and Michael Jum-Patrick as a young man who may make flattering older women profitable. The staging of the production is excellent, making interesting use of almost thcater-in-the-round to create a feeling of different locales. A special bouquet to Robert Waring for his set and light design.Brooklyn is indeed fortunate to have community theater offered by this long-slanding and talented group of people who love what they arc doing and it shows. Start your fall activities by attending a performance. The calibre of this group is one of the few inflation bargains around!%u201c Forty Carats%u201d presented by The Heights Players, 26Willow Place (off Joralemon St.] on September 21, 22, 28 &29 at 8:30 p.m. and September 23 at 2:30 p.m. Call 237-2752to reserve tickets which are $3.50.I ME KMEET MRALL-SECURITYR O G E RSCHILLIZZISAYSCOMPARE OUR SERVICESAll Security Our Newest%u202224 hour emergency Service%u2022Saturday store hours %u2022 1 year guarantee on parts and labor %u20225 licensed locksmiths %u2022Sorry we don%u2019t sharpen scissorsCompetitor%u2022When his door closes so does his business %u2022Closed Saturdays %u202290 day guarantee %u20222 licensed men %u2022Our competitor doesA T T E N T IO N N EW MOVE-INS Check with yourneighbor as to whohas been doing theirlock-work for thepast 8 yearsCom pare serviceand prices - that%u2019sall we askROGER SCHILLIZZI,PRES.>IK.HbaarS
