Half a million dollars has been sitting in the hopper for a complete renovation of the building, ailed by leaks and decay, for more than two years, but since the funding process began in 1977, inflation has thrown the allocated values out of whack. The amended amount will allow ihe rebuilding process, scheduled to begin October first to cover roofing, windows, lighting, shelving, furniture floor and woodwork replacements, as well as allow for new heating and air conditioning systems. The library facilities will move to a new building in the area during the planned 2-year repairs, but no site has yet been selected.Spring Gardens Start In FallGardening is not just a spring and summer activity but rather a year round affair. The Cooperative Extension of Cornell University, responsible for numerous urban gardens, is setting up free fall and winter workshops on nutrition, container gardening (indoors and out) and vacant lot gardening ideas for next spring. Preparations, John Ameroso stressed, should be made in the fall.Any organization thinking of cleaning up a rubble-filled loi and creating a garden can write to Cornell Extension, 30 Third Ave., Room 616, Brooklyn, 11217 or call 237-0920 or 237-0926.Slope Hall Up For SaleAn ex-Knights of Columbus Hall, located on 19th Street between 7th and 8th Aves., has gone up for sale on the open market.
