SERVING the Yorke Peninsula for over 20 years

In Week 9, the Year 3 students
were given the wonderful
opportunity to go on their first
camp. They attended the Adelaide
Zoo Snooze overnight program,
sleeping over in the zoo and
experiencing the animals in
different ways. They went on a
night walk to see the nocturnal
animals being active, and walked
around the zoo in the morning
before it opened. The Year 3s then
went to the Adelaide Museum
and conducted research into how
the Australian Indigenous people
live, then walked to the Botanic
Gardens. There they enjoyed a
much deserved rest with a Subway
picnic lunch.

Farmshed Museum Excursion
Year 3
Zoo Snooze
On Tuesday of Week 8, the Year 1 class had the opportunity to tour the Farm Shed Museum and Tourism Centre.
Gerry and Ken were our fabulous tour guides, and from them we learned so much about life in the past. Some of our favourite things were washing day (it used to take a whole day to wash the clothes), the toilet being outside and having to use a Poe (chamber pot) during the night, the cane at school, the goat cart that some children travelled to school in, and all about
olden day harvesters!
