Amboli:
The other place which caught my attention was a
beautiful rainforest on a hill station in South
Maharashtra - Amboli. Amboli lies in the Sahayadri
Hills of Western India, one of the world's "Eco
Hot-Spots" and is filled with unusual flora and
fauna. The hill station is also known as the
Cherapunji of Maharashtra and is one of the
wettest places in India. Today, Amboli is known for
its sheer abundance of herpetofauna (reptiles and
amphibians). Monsoon nights are filled with the
croaks and whistles of frogs and toads.
Having spent some great moments and quality amidst nature, it is pretty evident that in this race of following
new emerging technologies, we Humans also need to be considerate towards the betterment of Mother
Nature. Another important aspect that we need to look into is co-existence and respecting the space being
shared with other habitants of Earth. When we humans coexist together and avoid persecuting wildlife in and
around our communities, we safeguard our ecosystem’s health, agricultural stability, food security, and the
creation of new sustainable economies (e.g., ecotourism).
Ultimately, coexistence with wildlife is essential for all life, humans and animals alike and the foundation to the
greater and brighter future.
