That feeling after reaching the summit
Key Highlights and Experiences of
Day 4 – my trek:
Summit Day – We Climbed till the
summit at 12500 ft and came back to • Met a whole bunch of new people of
our base camp at 8500ft different backgrounds. In those 6 days, we
became like a family altogether. So good,
that we all are still in touch.
• Saw snowfall for the first time in my life.
• Being my first snow Himalayan trek, there
were times where I pushed my physical and
mental limits. Temperatures were con
stantly very low around – 3 to +2 degrees for
3 days straight. Also, on summit day, there
P.S. – was a very difficult and steep patch that we
had to climb in such low temperatures. But
we did that successfully by the motivation
Uttarakhand is of our trek leader and our positive spirits.
• We wrote letters on the summit to one
special person in our lives. This was a very
HEAVEN ON EARTH. unique activity conducted by India Hikes
and was a very emotional one.
Period. • The Summit View – Unmatchable, Unforget
table and Unbelievable. There is a rush of
emotions when you finally reach there at
12500ft and experience that feeling of your
dream becoming true. We bowed down to
the mighty Himalayas once we reached the
summit and thanked for allowing us to suc
cessfully complete our climb.
• Last but not the least – I learnt that “It’s all
about the journey”. This is what matters, the
journey, the process. Once we start enjoy
Onkar Gurav ing the journey of our lives, the destination
is always going to be beautiful.
I would like to tell everyone to do at least one Himalayan trek in their
