Career Exploration Program – Part 2
Sponsored by The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee
If you’re a student and are thinking about the career path you want to take
after you graduate, this program is for you. We’ve teamed up with college
career counselor Debra Landesberg of My College Resource to help you
find your career passion with the BestFitU program, a student-driven pro-
cess for helping students achieve their “best fit” college experience. The
program takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Zoom. To register, please

“Jewish Heroines of the Holocaust”
Jewish partisan Sarah Fortis formed and organized an all-female partisan
unit, recruiting members from peasant villages on the Greek island of
Chalkis, traveling by donkey and assembling a platoon of a dozen girls.
She became known as “Captain Sarika” throughout Greece, teaching
her platoon members how to shoot handguns, torch buildings and throw
Molotov cocktails, as they remained constantly on the move without a base
camp. “You’re a partisan now,” she proclaimed to her brigade. This class,
presented by the Al Katz Center, begins at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Cost: $10

“Foods of Jewish Italy” with Lael Hazan
Throughout their more than 2,000-year sojourn in Italy, the Jews have
had an impact on the diversity and flavors of Italian food. Influenced by
their previous communities as well their dietary restrictions, Jewish Italian
cooking became quite imaginative and flexible. This program will explore
the origins, recipes and delights of Italian Jewish cooking. The event be-
