3. Valve actuation methods:
(a) Directly actuated by a solenoid with ON/OFF or proportional control.
(b) Two-stage actuation with the pilot pressure in the final actuation stage being
proportional to the first stage command signal. The command signal may be
generated by manual controls or solenoid.
(c) Three-stage actuation for very large flow rate applications.
In general, a manifold base plus a set of cartridge valves results in integrated hydraulic
valve systems with low leakage and reliable operation. Cartridge valves can perform the
