between two masters (Figure 10.17). The spacing conveyor is the slave. There are two
masters, input and output conveyors, for the spacing conveyor to match linear speeds with
during two phases out of three phases of each cycle.
Each cycle is divided into three phases:
1. Transfer phase from input conveyor to spacing conveyor (spacing conveyor matches
linear speed to the input conveyor by considering the input conveyor as the master).
2. Non-transfer phase of spacing conveyor with no part contact to adjacent conveyors
(spacing conveyor does not have to match linear speeds to any conveyor).
3. Transfer phase to output conveyor (spacing conveyor matches linear speed to output
conveyor by considering the output conveyor as the master).
