By visiting Gwanghwamun Square and the surrounding historical sites such as
Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and the Blue House, American high
school students will immerse themselves in Korea’s rich cultural heritage. These iconic
landmarks offer a unique window into the nation’s past, allowing students to witness the
grandeur of Korea’s history firsthand. Exploring the former presidential office and residence
at the Blue House, they will gain insights into the nation’s leadership and its journey through
modern history. This experience will inspire students to appreciate the enduring connection
between Korea’s storied past and its promising future.
광화문 광장과 주변의 경복궁, 창덕궁 등의 고궁과 한국 대통령의 집무실 및 관저로 사용되었던 청와대를 방문함으로써, 미국
고등학생들은 한국의 풍부한 문화유산에 흠뻑 빠져들게 될 것입니다. 이러한 대표적인 역사 유적지는 학생들에게 한국 역사의
웅장함을 직접 목격할 수 있는 독특한 창을 제공합니다. 청와대를 탐방하며, 학생들은 한국의 지도력과 현대사를 통해 국가의

Gwanghwamun Square - 광화문광장
l Gwanghwamun Square has been a symbolic
center of Korean history and culture for
centuries.
l Despite the gate being destroyed and rebuilt
several times during conflicts, the open space
in front remained a gathering place for the
people.
l It served as the heart of the capital, housing
government buildings and public assemblies.
l The square witnessed major political and
social events, embodying the spirit of Korean democracy and unity through turbulent
times.
l Its recent restoration aims to preserve this
historical legacy while providing a modern
public space for events, festivals, and daily
activities.
l 광화문 광장은 수백 년 동안 한국 역사와 문화의 상징적인
중심지 역할을 해왔습니다.
l 전쟁과 갈등으로 인해 광화문이 여러 차례 파괴되고
재건되었지만, 광화문 앞 광장은 시민들의 집회 장소로 계속
남아있었습니다.
