We are passing through a critical period. As Secretary of
Defense Lloyd Austin argued, “we live in a decisive decade
. . . business as usual is not acceptable,” from his cover letter
to the U.S. National Defense Strategy (2022). Before the
new nuclear logic of the third nuclear age overwhelms us,
whoever utilizes the current “window of opportunity” will be
the winner of this era. Ultimately, time will favor not those
divided by distrust but those like us who are well-integrated
based on values and rules.
