of the Korean War

2022년 6월: 6·25전쟁 제72주년 기념, 한미동맹 하와이 행사 개최

To commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, the
Center for Korea-America Freedom & Security Policy (KAFSP) held various events
with the Korean Veterans Association and the Korea Conservative Political Action
Conference (KCPAC) to remember the sacri ce of Korean War veterans and
emphasize the importance of the U.S.-ROK alliance. The events were held from
June 24 to 26 in Hawaii.

The events were attended by high-ranking o cials, including former Prime
Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, former Army Chief of Sta Kim Jin-young, and former
Deputy Commander of the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command Choi
Byung-hyuk. They were joined by experts on Korean Peninsula security, including
Lee Jung-hoon, professor of International Relations at Yonsei University’s
Graduate School of International Studies. On the U.S. side, o cials in attendance
included David Stillwell, former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and
Paci c A airs, Republican Party leaders, and veterans of the Korean War.

한미자유안보정책센터(KAFSP)는 6·25전쟁 발발 72주년을 맞아
대한민국재향군인회 및 한국보수주의연합(KCPAC)과 함께 2022년 6월 24일부터
26일까지 3일간 미국 하와이에서 참전용사의 희생을 기리고 한미동맹의 중요성을
널리 알리는 여러 행사를 진행했다. 이번 행사에는 황교안 전 총리, 김진영 전
육군참모총장, 최병혁 전 한미연합사 부사령관 등 고위 인사를 비롯, 이정훈 연세대
국제학대학원 원장 등 한반도 안보 전문가들이 대거 참석했다. 미국 측에서는
데이비드 스틸웰 전 국무부 동아시아태평양 차관보 및 공화당 관계자, 한국전
참전용사 등 다양한 인사들이 함께했다.
