l 대한민국 육군사관학교는 차세대 군 리더를 양성하는
대한민국 최고의 교육 기관입니다. 1952년에 설립된
KMA는 엄격한 학업, 고급 훈련, 엘리트 리더십
개발을 결합한 세계 최고 수준의 교육을 제공합니다.
생도들은 까다롭지만 보람 있는 경험을 통해 뛰어난
인성과 지성, 전사 정신을 갖춘 장교로 거듭납니다.
l 서울에 위치한 육군사관학교는 최고의 강사진이
군사학, 공학, 인문학 등을 아우르는 도전적인
커리큘럼을 제공합니다. 하지만 사관학교는 학문 그
이상입니다. 생도들은 명예와 의무, 강도 높은 규율의
문화에 몰입하며 앞으로의 막중한 책임에
대비합니다. 오랜 전통은 대한민국 군대를 이끌어갈
가치와 기술을 심어줍니다.
l 밴 플리트 장군은 한국 육군사관학교 설립에 중요한 역할을 하며 그 발전과 훈련 프로그램에 크게 기여했습니다. 그의
노력은 애국 간성을 길러내고 한국의 군사 능력을 강화하는 데 기틀을 마련했습니다. 밴플리트 장군 동상 등 여러 의미있는
기념물을 방문하게 될 것입니다.
l 졸업생들은 국가의 주권과 민주주의 이상을 수호할 준비가 된 원칙적인 리더로 성장합니다. KMA는 리더로서의 소명과
봉사에 대한 확고한 헌신을 가진 사람들에게 목적에 맞는 군인의 길을 제시합니다.

(4) Remembrance and Unity at the National Cemetery
국립묘지에서의 추모와 연대

By attending the Memorial Day ceremony at the National Cemetery on June 6th, presided
over by the Korean President, students will gain a profound understanding of the noble
sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom. This solemn event offers a unique opportunity to
highlight the shared values of honor and remembrance between Korea and the United
States. Touring the National Cemetery and paying their respects will deepen their
understanding of the historical ties and mutual respect that bind the two countries. This
experience will inspire students to honor the past and contribute to building a future based
on peace and solidarity.
6월 6일 현충일에 한국 대통령이 주관하는 국립묘지에서 열리는 현충일 기념행사에 참석함으로써, 나라의 자유를 위해 희생한
이들의 숭고한 희생을 깊이 이해하게 될 것입니다. 이 엄숙한 행사는 한국과 미국이 공유하는 명예와 추모의 가치를 새롭게
조명할 수 있는 특별한 기회를 제공합니다. 국립묘지를 둘러보고 참배하면서 두 나라를 잇는 역사적 유대와 상호 존중을 더욱
깊이 이해하게 될 것입니다. 이러한 경험은 학생들에게 과거를 기리고 평화와 연대를 바탕으로 한 미래를 구축하는 데 기여할
영감을 줄 것입니다.

The Seoul National Cemetery – 국립묘지(현충원)

l The Seoul National Cemetery, located in Dongjak-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, is a national
cemetery in South Korea. It honors military personnel, police officers, independence
activists, and other patriots who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence and
freedom. Established in 1956, the cemetery is a site for national ceremonies and
memorial events.
l Memorial Tower: A symbolic tower within the cemetery that honors all fallen soldiers and
patriots. Various memorial ceremonies are held here.
l Main Gate (Hyeonchungmun): The main entrance to the cemetery.
