Disability
Disability insurance offers income replacement if you are disabled due to
illness or injury.
Short Term Disability
Short term disability coverage provides 60% of your base weekly earnings
to a maximum of $1,500. Beneits will begin on the 15th day of an illness
or injury and continue for a period of time not to exceed 11 weeks. If you
are a resident of California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii,
or Puerto Rico you will receive short term disability beneits through the
state.
Long Term Disability
Long term disability coverage provides a beneit equal to 50% of your
base monthly earnings. Employees have the option to elect additional
coverage up to 60% of your base monthly earnings. Beneits will be
capped at $10,000 for the VER and employee paid coverage combined.
Beneits are payable after a 90-day waiting period and will continue
for a period of 24 months if you are totally disabled from your own
occupation.
