Paid Sick Leave—Assisted Living Facilities

Full-time employees who have completed their introductory period
accrue sick leave at the rate of 8 hours of sick pay for every 345 hours
worked.


Employees accrue sick leave from the date of compensated
employment, but cannot utilize sick leave until they have successfully
completed their 90-day introductory period.


The employee can accrue up to 6 sick days and these days may be
carried forward at year end. At no point may the employee accrue more
than 6 days.


Payment of sick time will not begin until the third (3rd) consecutive
day of absence. If an employee is hospitalized, sick leave beneits will
begin on day one. Upon completion of two (2) years of employment
sick leave pay will begin on day one (1).


Sick leave will be paid at your applicable straight-time rate earned. Sick
leave pay will not be considered hours worked for the purposes of
computing overtime.


Requests for sick leave are subject to approval, denial, or
postponement.


Employees may be required to submit medical certiication of disability
or injury for such leaves of more than three consecutive calendar
days, or whenever requested by their supervisor. Failure to provide
the proper certiication may result in denial of paid sick leave and the
employee’s return to work.


Pay for unused sick leave is forfeited upon separation of employment.


Sick leave does not apply to injury or illness covered by the Workers’
Compensation Act.
