Additional Benefits
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)—UnitedHealthcare
A dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to withhold an elected
amount of your paycheck into a tax-free account to pay for qualified dependent care
expenses during the plan year. The expenses for care must be for a qualifying person*
so that you can work. They care must have been given, not just paid for it, before you can
request reimbursement. If you’re married, both you and your spouse must be working,
be a full time student, actively looking for work or incapable of self-care.
*A qualifying person is:
• a dependent child under the age of 13 for day care and/or summer camp expenses or,
• a spouse or dependent who is unable to physically or mentally care for themselves.
