Changing Your Elections Mid Year
While the beneits choices you make during annual enrollment remain effective
for the entire next year, there are special circumstances when changes are allowed,
called qualiied changes in status (see box to the right). Certain beneit changes may
be made if they are consistent with the event. For example, if you have a baby, he/
she may be added to your medical coverage and/or you can add dependent life
insurance.
If you experience a qualiied change in status, contact Beneits Administration as
soon as possible (but no longer than 30 days) to ensure you submit your changes to
your beneits within the required time period.
