Mandatory Retail 90 for Maintenance Medications
To make life easier, our prescription plans require you to fill a 90 day supply of your
maintenance medications through Walgreens, Duane Reade, or OptumRx’s mail order
program. Examples of maintenance medications include birth control, insulin, high
blood pressure medicines, etc. This saves you time and money with reduced copays and
reduced trips to the pharmacy.
If you have a maintenance medication that you are taking, you will need your doctor
to write your next maintenance medication prescription for a 90 day (or more) supply.
This will allow you to use OptumRx’s Home delivery or your local Walgreens/Duane
Reade to get a 90 day supply. You can call UHC at 800.765.6717 for additional details.
The Classic HDHP and Value HDHP cover preventive medications at no cost to plan
