Mangroves To Offset Carbon Footprint Of

‘Impact Retreat’

The National CSR Fund – MAJRA has planted 8,200 mangrove saplings in the Jebel Ali Marine
Sanctuary, a significant step in offsetting the carbon footprint of its recent ‘Impact Retreat.’ This

initiative underscores MAJRA’s commitment to environmental responsibility, fostering community
collaboration, and promoting sustainability in the UAE.

Inspired by the World Bank data report that recommends planting 164 trees annually per person to
offset an individual’s carbon footprint, MAJRA facilitated the planting of 82 mangroves per participant.

This effort will offset the combined carbon footprint of the retreat's participants until June 2025.
