to explore local marine biodiversity, reinforcing their shared commitment to conservation and
sustainability.
Leadership Commitment
Sarah Shaw, Director of MAJRA, stated:
"At MAJRA, we strive to fulfill our commitments to environmental responsibility by taking proactive
measures. This sapling planting initiative is not only a meaningful start to 2025 but also a call for
institutions and the private sector to adopt sustainable practices. By planting 82 trees per participant,
we aim to inspire transformative change that aligns with the UAE’s broader sustainable development
strategy."
Encouraging Sustainable Practices
The ‘Impact Retreat’ aimed to engage the private sector in contributing to national priority projects,
developed in coordination with government leaders, civil society organizations, and sustainability
specialists. The initiative aligns with the UAE’s environmental, social, economic, and governance
(ESG) goals, and serves as a model for incorporating sustainability into corporate social responsibility
(CSR) practices.
This effort reflects MAJRA’s leadership in driving sustainability-focused initiatives and highlights the
importance of collective action in achieving the UAE’s vision for environmental stewardship.
