In a bid to tackle congestion and enhance traffic flow, Dubai’s Roads and Transport
Authority (RTA) has announced significant updates to Salik toll charges and public parking
fees, effective in 2025. The changes reflect Dubai’s commitment to evolving its
transportation infrastructure while promoting smarter traffic management.
Here’s everything you need to know about these updates, including fee structures,
timings, and how they’ll impact daily commuters and event-goers.

Updated Salik Charges: What’s New?

Dubai’s Salik toll system is getting a revamp with time-based variable pricing. Starting at
the end of January 2025, the charges will be higher during peak hours, encouraging
drivers to use alternate routes or travel during less busy times.

New Salik Charges:

▪ Peak Hours (Weekdays): AED 6 (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
▪ Off-Peak Hours (Weekdays): AED 4 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 1:00
AM)
▪ Sundays: AED 4 all day
▪ Free Salik Hours: 1:00 AM – 6:00 AM (Every Day)
These adjustments aim to spread out traffic more evenly throughout the day, ensuring
smoother commutes for all.
