Public parking charges will also shift to a time-based system to align with peak and off-
peak traffic patterns. These updates will roll out a the end of March 2025:

New Parking Charges:

▪ Premium Parking Spaces — Peak Hours (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM –
8:00 PM): AED 6/hour
▪ Other Parking Spaces — Peak Hours (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM –
8:00 PM): AED 4/hour
▪ Off-Peak Hours (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM): No changes;
existing rates apply.
▪ Night-Time (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM) and Sundays: Free parking will continue
during these hours.

Event Zone Congestion Pricing Introduced

In a first for Dubai, RTA is introducing congestion pricing in major event zones to manage

high traffic volumes during major events. Public parking in these zones will cost AED 25
per hour during big events.
The Dubai World Trade Centre zone will be the first to implement this, starting in February
2025. Other big event zones such as Expo 2020 as expected to follow suit. This initiative
is designed to reduce gridlock and encourage visitors to consider alternative modes of
transportation like public transit or ride-sharing.
