DUBAI, 27th July, 2024 (WAM) — The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) and
Keolis MHI, the company responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Dubai Metro as well as
the Dubai Tram, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on Emiratisation

        efforts in the private sector.

The aim of this collaboration is to improve the professional development and career opportunities of
UAE citizens through comprehensive technical and vocational training programmes.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Vice Chairman of the

Human Resources Development Council in Dubai and Director General of the Department of Human
Resources in Dubai, and David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis MHI.

The agreement focuses on prioritising recruitment and implementing structured training programmes
that will enable Emirati nationals to gain practical experience and expertise in various engineering and

operational functions across Dubai Metro and Tram.

Under the MoU, Emiratis recruited by the council at Keolis MHI will undergo extensive training in key

areas of rail operations and maintenance, such as, within engineering, automatic train control systems,
automatic fare collection, power systems and infrastructure. This collaboration aims to equip trainees

with the necessary knowledge and skills through both theoretical learning and ‘on-the-job training’. A
