Elm , a p io neer of digita l so lu tio n, and the Royal Com m is s io n for AlUla (RCU), have
signed a m em orandum of understanding (Mo U) in the fie ld of research, on the
sidelines of LEAP 2023 held in Riyadh, Saudi Ara b ia from February 6 to 9.
Am r b in Saleh AlMadan i, RCU's CEO, and Dr Abdu lra hm an b in Saad Aljadhai, Elm 's CEO,
signed the Mo U, wh ich provides a fram ework for b ila te ral cooperation in the fie ld s of
scientific research, developm ent and im p le m entation of joint projects, and prom otion
of added value, in accordance with the asp ira tions and visions of both parties and of
the target entities in the governorate of AlUla .
The Mo U states that RCU shall provide research requ ire m ents and perm its, coord in ate
with stakeholders, and determ ine m e thods to be used in research and stud ie s.
Elm will conduct analysis; prepare, stud y, review, develop, and align projects and
applied scientific research of com m on interest; develop m echanism s to m on ito r
im p le m entation; coordinate activities; organ ize workshops; and give presentations in
scientific conferences as part of its partnership with RCU. Conducting research on
RCU's services and solutions will enhance their efficiency and h igh ligh t prospects for
their developm ent.
AlMadani stated that one of the Mo U's objectives is to m ake Al-Ula a un iqu e ,
international destination for living, tourism , and business. He em phasized that through
its partnersh ip s and program s, RCU strive s to ach ie ve the vis io n of AlUla and m axim ize
im pact by prom oting sustainable developm ent for hum ans and places.
Dr Aljadhai, Elm 's CEO, said that the com pany strives to enhance its research and
strategic cooperation with various governm ent sectors, m in istries, and agencies,
includ ing RCU.
He expressed Elm 's in te rest in contributing to RCU's efforts to im prove the efficiency of
its work m anagem ent, with its d igita l transform atio n expertis e . He po in ted out that Elm
is aware of the role that d igita l transform ation can play in enhancing the capacity of
tourism authorities and institutions and develop ing their perform ance, wh ich can
contribute effectively to develop in g services in the sector and m aking them m ore
seam less.
Dr Alja dhai apprecia ted that the Kin gdom is we ll on its way in the fie ld of digita l
transform ation. Th is direction is of param ount im portance in light of the increasing
need to sh ift from trad itio nal ways toward a d igita l future. Digita l transform atio n will
enab le and accelerate the transform ation of pub lic institutions efficiently and
effectively.
