2/26/24, 8:52 AM GAS Launches ‘Talents’ project to Nurture Young Sporting Prodigies in the UAE
The project will aim to motivate them to practice sports regularly, foster a competitive spirit

among them, and showcase their talents, as well as enable them to adopt a healthy

lifestyle, create a database of sports talents, and expand the country’s pool of talents every
        year.

Ghanem Al Hajri, Director-General of GAS, said the project aims to encourage young

talents to join competitive sports early, improve their skills and performance, and foster

        their health and sportsmanship.

The authority and its partners from relevant sporting entities will support these talents to

develop their skills and ensure their professional growth, he added, expressing his hope

that it will become a launching pad for achieving international and Olympic success and

enhance the reputation and status of Emirati sports in regional and global arenas, under

the vision of the UAE’s leadership.

Sheikh Suhail Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at

GAS, said that the project cooperates with nine sports federations and bodies to organise

various competitions, championships, and festivals that utilise new methods to discover

and develop sporting talents in nine different sports.

The project has already hosted three events out of 18 planned events and festivals, which

are the “First Talent Discovery Festival for Athletics Buds,” the “Future Falcons Golf Talent

Discovery Festival” and the “Abu Dhabi Club Tennis Festival for Badminton Talent
        Discovery".
