3/26/25, 12:51 PM Dubai Police Distributes Over 325,000 Iftar Meals to Ensure Safer Roads During Ramadan
Addressing a Critical Time on the Roads
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of
Traffic, highlighted that the Traffic Awareness Department has implemented this initiative
in collaboration with key partners, including the RTA, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Health
Authority, Emirates Red Crescent, and several private sector entities, with the support of
over 375 volunteers.
Curbing Risky Driving Before Iftar
Al Mazrouei noted that traffic violations and accidents peak during iftar time, with drivers
speeding or jumping signals in an attempt to reach their destination before sunset. He
urged motorists to plan ahead, follow traffic rules, and exercise patience, stressing that
“Arriving late and safe is better than not arriving at all.”
A Spirit of Social Unity
He further praised the volunteers and partner organizations, emphasizing that the
campaign reflects the UAE’s values of compassion and community solidarity. By promoting
responsible driving and road safety, Dubai Police continues its mission to achieve a
Ramadan free of accidents, ensuring the well-being of all road users.
