Dubai Municipality launched a smart marine scraper to collect floating waste in the creek and
water canals in the emirate. The scraper was produced and developed locally by Emirati hands and
in cooperation with Al Khattaal Boat Manufacturing Factory. It is distinguished by the fact that it
operates via a remote control device for an unlimited range and without an operating crew on
board, in addition to It contains a control system via fifth generation networks to perform naval
maneuvers, and the possibility of monitoring it with satellites.

The scraper is also distinguished by the fact that it is equipped with several secondary systems,
including: An intelligent marine survey system that enables it to identify waste sites and initiate the
process of removing it, and an interactive system for the external environment to raise the rate of
marine safety to prevent collisions automatically, in addition to its high-level productivity that
enables it to collect and transport 1,000 kilograms of floating marine waste, as well as Being
environmentally friendly.

The smart scraper embodies the continuous efforts of Dubai Municipality in the field of technical
innovation and its use to generate sustainable solutions that develop and enhance the efficiency of
municipal work, and through it supports its goals in integrated waste management, enhancing the
