The Dubai Central Laboratory has implemented a new AI technology to detect
Legionella bacteria, which causes respiratory infections. This technology can

generate results in 48 hours, compared to the standard 14-day process. The

Director of the Laboratory Department highlighted the accuracy and efficiency of
the new technology, accredited globally and recognized by AOAC International.

Dubai Municipality is committed to developing digital infrastructure for its

laboratories to enhance health and safety systems. The Dubai Central Laboratory

conducts over 100,000 tests annually on food, water, and consumer products to
ensure market safety. Various sectors, including food, health, industry, and

environment, benefit from the laboratory’s tests, which utilize nearly 5,000

technology systems and devices.
