10/24/25, 3:33 PM UAE Ministry Of Economy And Tourism Announces New Trademark Service Fees To Boost Competitiveness
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, said the update aims to
improve service quality, expedite procedures, and reinforce the UAE’s standing as a global
business hub. He highlighted the 129% growth in trademark registrations during the first half of
2025, with nearly 20,000 national and international trademarks recorded.
The decision sets new and revised fees for 28 trademark services, including the introduction of
seven new categories such as the one-day trademark examination
(AED2,250) and registration of geographical indications (AED6,500). It also consolidates
renewal fees and updates charges for grievances and infringement complaints.
Officials said the move aligns with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which seeks to position the
country as a leading global destination for innovation and entrepreneurship. By enhancing
efficiency, flexibility, and digital integration in trademark services, the Ministry aims to foster a
stronger, more inclusive environment for intellectual property protection and business growth
across the UAE.
