The official theme for Emirati Women’s Day 2025, “Hand in Hand, Celebrating the 50th,” encapsulates a spirit of unity and
collective commitment. This theme resonates deeply with the UAE’s national declaration of 2025 as the Year of
Community, under the overarching slogan “Hand in Hand.” It emphasizes community partnership and social cohesion to
further women’s empowerment and gender equality.

This thematic choice underscores the notion that true empowerment is achieved through collaboration among all segments
of society—women and men, institutions, government bodies, and civil society—working side by side. The theme honors
Emirati women’s achievements over the last 50 years while calling on communities to continue fostering an inclusive
environment where women can thrive as equal partners in building the nation’s future.

UAE’s proactive approach to empowering women

On this year’s theme, Raja Al Mazrouei, CEO of Etihad Credit Insurance, remarked in a statement to Economy Middle
East, “‘Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years’ is a theme that strikes a deep chord with the foundation of our country’s
unity and sense of community. As the General Women’s Union marks 50 years since its founding, the theme reaffirms that
Emirati women have been and will remain equal participants in the advancement of the United Arab Emirates. Above all,
our wise leadership has created an inclusive setting for women across the nation, and we at Etihad Credit Insurance embody
this national spirit by fostering an environment where women are valued for their leadership and innovative spirit, which
promotes inclusive growth, national unity, and sustainable progress.”

She also added, “With the UAE’s proactive commitment to gender equality, Emirati women are leading the charge in
designing a sustainable future. Our country places a high priority on inclusivity and resilience through programmes like the
‘We the UAE 2031’ strategy and the ‘National Policy for Empowerment of Emirati Women 2023-2031’. We at ECI expand
