DUBAI – Government offices across Dubai will close on Friday, September 5, to mark Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
The announcement was confirmed by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) in a circular issued on Thursday,
corresponding to 13th Rabi Al Awwal 1447 AH.
Regular working hours will resume on Monday, September 8.
Prophet’s Birthday in Dubai
The holiday will be observed by all government entities, institutions, and departments in Dubai. Agencies that manage essential services such
as healthcare, utilities, and emergency operations will remain functional, with duty rosters arranged to ensure continuity of services.
The DGHR clarified that the directive applies only to public sector institutions. Authorities highlighted that the occasion is dedicated to
allowing employees to observe the day with their families, while also reinforcing values of unity and tolerance in line with the UAE’s
traditions.
