             The partnership will extend legal and technical support to companies operating within Dubai Science
             Park and across TECOM Group’s wider ecosystem, which includes over 10 innovation-focused business
             districts. By accelerating patent reviews and commercialisation both locally and globally, the initiative
             aims to boost the economic value of national innovations and strengthen the UAE’s position as a

             Dr. Al Muaini said:

             “The MoU with TECOM Group will provide legal and technical support to business owners operating
             within TECOM Group’s business districts, while also accelerating the review and commercialisation of
             patent applications both locally and internationally. This, in turn, will enhance the economic value of our
             national innovations.”


             Patent Growth Highlights Momentum

             Between January and July 2025, the Ministry recorded 1,221 patents, up from 466 during the same
             period in 2024. Patent applications also rose to 2,430, compared to 1,996 a year earlier, reflecting
             heightened awareness of the role of IP protection in driving the UAE’s innovation-led economy.

             Building a Global Science Ecosystem

             Janahi emphasized the role of IP in advancing research and talent attraction:


             “IP protections are essential to foster innovation, and the UAE’s commitment to nurturing human
             ingenuity is attracting the world’s brightest minds to our nation. Our strategic partnership with the Ministry
             of Economy and Tourism will significantly accelerate research and development, cultivating homegrown
             innovation that delivers global impact.”

             Dubai Science Park, home to more than 500 companies including AstraZeneca, BeiGene, and Pfizer, as
             well as 6,500 professionals across life sciences, energy, and environmental sectors, offers Grade-A
             offices, LEED-certified laboratories, and advanced logistics facilities. The collaboration underscores
             TECOM Group’s role in positioning Dubai as a hub for cutting-edge innovation, IP protection, and
             commercialisation.
