The Dubai Government has issued an important update ahead of the Eid Al Fitr public holiday.
Work will be suspended for public sector employees for the first three days of the Islamic Hijri month of
Shawwal with the 30th day of Ramadan also an official day of if Ramadan is a 30-day month. This will
allow government workers to enjoy the Eid Al Fitr public holiday.
The first three days of Shawwal mark Eid Al Fitr and immediately follow Ramadan. Work will resume
from Shawwal 4.
In the Islamic Hijri calendar, months are either 29 or 30 days long with the exact duration of each
month determined by whether or not a crescent moon is spotted on either the 28th day or the 29th day
of the month.

Tuesday April 1 and Wednesday April 2 off.

Islamic calendar dates.
