Turkish Arçelik on the verge of acquiring Whirlpool in Morocco

Arçelik, a consumer brand of Beko’s parent company, today completed the
acquisition of Whirlpool’s MENA (Middle East and North Africa) operations. It now
owns the Whirlpool brand in Morocco.

With this acquisition, Arçelik now owns Whirlpool’s entities in the UAE and Morocco, as
well as Whirlpool’s MDA (Home Appliance Distributor Brands) business operations in
the MENA region.

By combining its industrial expertise with Whirlpool’s know-how, regional infrastructure
and market presence, Arçelik aims to strengthen and expand its position in the MENA
region.

The brands offered in the MENA market through this acquisition are Whirlpool, Ariston,
Indesit, Hotpoint, Hotpoint-Ariston, Bauknecht, Privileg and Ignis. However, Whirlpool’s
Insinkerator, KitchenAid and Maytag businesses are not included, and Whirlpool and
Ariston are limited to one licensee in a given jurisdiction.

Akın Garzanlı, Marketing Director and Chief Customer Officer of MEA, Russia and CIS
region, spoke enthusiastically about this transaction. He said: “I am delighted to see the
successful completion of our strategic move to acquire Whirlpool’s business in the
