quality of life for senior citizens within Abu Dhabi’s comprehensive

community care ecosystem.

The initiative focuses on strengthening the values of family cohesion and

social solidarity, ensuring a stable and fulfilling life for senior citizens in

family settings.

This initiative was unveiled in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled

bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and

Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The launch event took place at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh

Mohamed bin Zayed was joined by a delegation from the Department of

Community Development (DCD) led by Chairman His Excellency Dr.

Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, and from the Family Development Foundation

(FDF) led by Director General Her Excellency Maryam Mohammed Al

Rumaithi, along with representatives from other entities participating in

Barakatna.

Supervised by the Department of Community Development, and in

collaboration with the Family Development Foundation and other

organizations in Abu Dhabi’s social sector, Barakatna aims to improve the

efficiency of home care for senior citizens in family environments.

The initiative will ensure that senior citizens can live a stable, healthy, and

fulfilling life within their families, as well as enhance family ties and

cohesion.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized that the Barakatna

initiative is a continuation of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to care for its senior

citizens, ensuring their dignity and wellbeing.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the invaluable contributions of senior citizens

to the nation’s development, describing them as a vital pillar of society
