UAE President launches 'Barakatna' Initiative

Sharjah 24 – WAM: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has launched the
Barakatna initiative to improve the wellbeing of senior citizens within Abu Dhabi’s community care
ecosystem. The initiative also aims to promote family cohesion and social solidarity. The launch
took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

The announcement was made at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed received
delegations from the Department of Community Development and the Family Development
Foundation, along with other participating entities.

Enhancing home care for senior citizens
Supervised by the Department of Community Development in cooperation with various Abu Dhabi
social sector organisations, Barakatna aims to enhance home care for senior citizens within their
family environments, ensuring a stable and fulfilling lifestyle.
