A 30 percent sales tax on hops, grape and other house beverages is being reintroduced to Dubai.

Set to be rolled out on Wednesday January 1 2025, the change could see a hike in the prices of drinks
across the board at bars, restaurants and hotels.

At the end of 2022, a suspension of the sales tax was originally announced as a one-year measure
from January 1 to December 31, 2023. However, it was extended in 2024.

Although not officially announced by the Dubai Government yet, the return of the tax has been
confirmed by MMI and African+Eastern to Caterer Middle East.
