6/2/25, 4:16 PM Eid Al Adha Holiday Announced for the Year 1446 AH by Dubai Government Officials

Eid Al Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, holds great significance for Muslims around the world as it commemorates

the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. This act of faith is celebrated
with prayers, feasting, and the ritual sacrifice of livestock, which is then distributed among family, friends, and those in need,

emphasizing the values of generosity and community.

In light of the upcoming holiday, DGHR extended thoughtful greetings to many distinguished leaders and residents of the UAE.
Congratulations were conveyed to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime
Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and all members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the

Emirates. These sentiments embody the spirit of unity and shared cultural integrity that define the diverse populace of the UAE,
        comprising locals and expatriates alike.

Eid Al Adha is not merely a holiday, but is also a reminder of the cultural tapestry that weaves together the values of faith,
family, and community. In a rapidly developing urban landscape, such as Dubai, this holiday offers residents and visitors alike

the opportunity to pause and reflect on the deeper meanings of sacrifice, charity, and togetherness. As people plan their
festivities, they are reminded of the importance of community engagement and social responsibility, with many participating in
charitable initiatives designed to support those less fortunate.

As businesses prepare for the holiday, it is notable that many organizations embrace the festive spirit, often launching

promotions and events to engage with their clientele. Restaurants usually curate special menus, and shops highlight traditional
goods that allow expatriates and residents alike to partake in the rich cultural heritage that characterizes the UAE.
