Shaikha Al Nowais actively supports training and capacity-building
initiatives. She chairs the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Tourism Working Group and
serves on the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les
Roches. Her leadership in the Hospitality Advisory Committee ensures the
next generation of tourism professionals is equipped with the skills to drive
sustainable and competitive growth.
Over the years, she has worked closely with stakeholders to enhance the
UAE’s hospitality sector, attracting both domestic and foreign investments.
Shaikha has also been committed to providing travelers with exceptional
tourism experiences while addressing industry challenges.
Speaking on her candidacy, Shaikha Al Nowais said that, “My nomination
by the UAE for this position reflects the importance our country places on
empowering Emirati women in leadership roles and fostering international
collaboration to promote sustainable tourism growth.”
Shaikha further expressed gratitude for this recognition, emphasizing that
tourism is a key driver of sustainable economic growth, job creation, and
cultural connectivity.
Sheikha outlined her vision based on six key pillars:
Sustainable & Responsible Tourism Growth – Strengthening tourism’s role as a
transformative economic force by supporting job creation, expanding business
opportunities, preserving cultural heritage, and protecting natural reserves.
Digital Transformation & Smart Tourism – Integrating cutting-edge technologies such
as AI and blockchain into tourism markets, while enhancing smart infrastructure for
exceptional travel experiences.
Economic Inclusion & Empowerment – Creating opportunities for women, youth, and
diverse social groups in the tourism sector, ensuring balanced and inclusive growth.
Education & Capacity Building – Developing industry professionals’ skills through
strategic training programs and international collaborations to secure the sector’s
long-term prosperity.
Resilience & Crisis Management – Enhancing the tourism industry’s ability to adapt to
global challenges such as climate change, technological advancements, and
geopolitical shifts.
Collaboration as a Success Driver – Strengthening partnerships between governments,
businesses, and local communities to build a more resilient global tourism ecosystem.
