Innovating for growth: Savoye's e-commerce success in the Middle East - Logistics Middle East
both its own and third-party technologies. Kaddoum highlighted the flexibility of its
approach, stating, “We have developed KWEST, which is a state-of-the-art software that
was launched to the market early this year.” This software seamlessly integrates various
automation technologies, ensuring customers can choose the best solutions for their

specific needs without being locked into a single provider’s ecosystem.

Savoye’s flagship software solution, ODATiO, provides comprehensive, integrated
systems for operations. ODATiO comprises three modules: Warehouse Management
System (WMS), Transport Management System (TMS), and Order Management System

(OMS). Kaddoum explained that these modules can function independently or as a fully
integrated suite, offering flexibility to customers based on their specific needs. “Our
customers can pick and choose which module they want, but if they want the three of

them, it comes as a pack, fully integrated and stable in terms of operators,” Kaddoum
        added.

ODATiO’s versatility is showcased through its implementations in various projects
across the region. For instance, Savoye is deploying ODATiO for a fully automated

fulfilment centre in Saudi Arabia while also delivering it as a standalone solution for a
major e-commerce player in the Middle East. This flexibility underscores ODATiO’s
adaptability to different operational environments, whether manual or automated.

The combination of ODATiO and KWEST represents Savoye’s holistic approach to
warehouse management and automation. By offering modular, integrated software

solutions, Savoye enables its customers to enhance operational efficiency, adapt to
changing demands, and integrate various automation technologies. As Kaddoum aptly

put it, “The software becomes a major point. We first have the customers develop and
transform their software stack, then automate.”

        Micro-fulfillment centres: The future?

Micro-fulfillment centres (MFCs) have emerged as a pivotal component in the evolving

e-commerce landscape, and Savoye is at the forefront of this transformation. “The
evolution of the fulfilment centre, the urban fulfilment centre, or the MFCs has two or
three steps,” Kaddoum explained. The pandemic drastically shifted consumer
behaviour, increasing demand for rapid delivery services. This change drove the rapid

implementation of MFCs to meet the need for quick commerce, particularly in densely
        populated urban areas.

Kaddoum highlighted how the concept of MFCs evolved during and after the
pandemic. “Automated fulfilment centres are high-speed and impact the average

urban fulfilment centre, where we have a quick commerce concept. The supermarket
players have a 15-minute delivery, and they do it from a dark warehouse within the
