Innovating for growth: Savoye's e-commerce success in the Middle East - Logistics Middle East
Savoye’s strategic initiatives in KSA include building a stronger local presence to
support its growing customer base. This involves not only expanding their team but
also enhancing their capabilities to deliver tailored solutions that meet the specific
needs of the Saudi market. “There is a lot of competition already in the equipment
space in KSA,” Kaddoum acknowledged. Indeed, the major players are already there. So
whoever is in the Middle East is naturally in KSA and vice versa.”
Despite the competitive landscape, Savoye remains confident in its ability to stand out
through innovation and quality. “We are competing. We are bringing ideas and
innovation to the region. We are pushing automation versus manual. So the
competition is here. Yes, it’s tough, but it’s also good. Whenever you have competition,
you have a healthy market.”
Manufacturing and quality control are also central to Savoye’s strategy. While their
primary manufacturing facilities are in France, Savoye is open to local partnerships to
meet regional demands. “We manufacture for the Middle East region in France. Our
factory for products manufactured by Savoye is based in France. Our software hub is
based in France, and the software and automation implementation team is based with
us in the Middle East,” Kaddoum explained. He added that while they focus on
maintaining high standards through centralised manufacturing, they also explore local
partnerships for supplementary components. “We are very open to building
partnerships with local suppliers in steel manufacture, local add-ons, and solutions for
some plastic totes.”
