        with the requirements of the new international standard. These efforts and commitment have enhanced
        the efficacy of Municipality’s governance tools and capacities.


        Dubai Municipality was also awarded with the ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management
        systems (EMS). The Municipality has integrated environmental management principles into its

        operations, duties, and activities by complying with international standards. It has also implemented
        policies to improve sustainability and safeguard the environment. Additionally, the Municipality has
        obtained ISO 50001 certification for energy management. This was achieved by creating and
        implementing an institutional framework that maximises energy use while lowering consumption as well

        as achieve environmental sustainability and efficient resource management goals.


        Furthermore, the Municipality secured the ISO 56002 certification for successfully implementing an
        innovation management system and showcasing its abilities in compliance with the most recent
        international standard. This accreditation validates the Municipality’s efforts in the field of innovation by
        upholding and reinforcing the standards of corporate excellence and leadership. Furthermore, the

        Municipality has obtained the ISO 38500 international standard for IT governance and digital
        transformation. This is in recognition of its successful implementation of governance practices that
        contributed to achieving the Municipality’s requirements digital transformation.


        Renewal



        In addition to obtaining new certifications, Dubai Municipality has successfully renewed 27 international
        certifications across different administrative, organizational, and specialized domains during 2023. This,
        together with the seven new certifications, has brought the Municipality’s total number of international
        certifications to 34.


        The international certification standards are awarded by globally accredited auditing firms. These

        companies make their decisions on certifications based on the international best practices adopted by
        the institution subject to evaluation and auditing. The certifications include a wide range of domains,
        including corporate governance and management.
