The Shawwal Crescent Sighting Committee has invited members of the community, including traditional crescent sighters (Al
Shawwafs), to take part in the visual sighting and submit their testimonies through official channels.

The meeting will be led by:

Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, President of the UAE Fatwa Council

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Vice President of the Council

Experts in Sharia, astronomy, and law will also participate in the observation process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to
Islamic traditions.

This initiative highlights the UAE’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation, setting new standards in astronomical
research and religious observances.
