"We also want to ensure tangible benefits for the community, particularly in strengthening international postal services that can
encourage Indonesian MSME products to penetrate the global market," Abdullah said.
Indonesia's participation and membership in the CA and POC of the UPU for 2025-2029 is expected to provide tangible benefits,
including strengthening the global and national postal ecosystem, particularly in the era of digitalization and AI.
Indonesia's role is also expected to improve international parcel services, postal financial services, and logistics to promote e-
commerce and Indonesia's digital economy; and to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian MSME products so that they become
more recognized in the global market.
Through the membership, Indonesia can not only influence the direction of UPU policy and the operation of global postal and logistics
networks and services, but also gain broader access to the development of the domestic postal ecosystem and services.
Indonesia's appointment was made at the 28th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from
September 7-20, 2025.
The mandate demonstrates the international postal and logistics sector's confidence in Indonesia's active role and contribution to
advancing the global ecosystem.
