3/10/25, 11:44 AM IWD 2025: Nasiba Alshukairy of 7X on leading with impact
On International Women’s Day, Alshukairy reflects on her two-decade journey in
logistics and offers insights into the evolving role of women in the sector.
Navigating a male-dominated industry
For decades, logistics was seen as a male-dominated field, with leadership roles often
reserved for those with deep operational experience. When Alshukairy entered the
industry 20 years ago, she encountered these rigid structures firsthand.
“When I joined the sector, that was especially true at the leadership level,” Alshukairy
explains. “While logistics has always been about innovation and efficiency, leadership
structures often remained traditional, valuing operational experience over strategic

Alshukairy’s background in strategy, investment, and transformation gave her a unique
perspective that challenged conventional notions of leadership in logistics. Instead of
solely focusing on operations, she saw an opportunity to redefine the sector by

experience, I made it a priority to master the intricacies of last-mile delivery, freight
forwarding, fulfilment centres, and cross-border trade policies,” she notes. “I wanted to
ensure that my insights weren’t just valuable but indispensable.”
Redefining leadership and driving impact
For Alshukairy, leadership in logistics extends far beyond operational expertise—it is
about vision, transformation, and impact. At 7X, she has been instrumental in driving
strategic growth, focusing on areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), fintech
investments, and strengthening trade corridors across the region.
As a woman in a high-level role, she understands that visibility alone is not enough—
what matters is making a lasting impact. “My approach has always been to lead with
