This collaboration marks a significant step in Dubai’s efforts to reduce
environmental impact and advance its circular economy vision. Under the terms of
the MoU, BiOD Technology has been authorized to collect UCO and FOG from
across the emirate and process them using advanced refining techniques.
The resulting B100 biodiesel not only offers a sustainable fuel option but also
helps protect Dubai’s sewage infrastructure from blockages caused by improper
oil disposal. The initiative aligns closely with Dubai’s long-term environmental and
economic strategies.
By converting waste into energy, the city can lower operational costs related to
wastewater treatment, reduce carbon emissions, and promote innovation in green
industries. Fahad Al-Awadhi, Director of Sewerage and Recycled Water Projects at
Dubai Municipality, Yousef Bastaki, Board Member of BiOD Technology, and Shiva
Vig, CEO of BiOD Technology, were present at the signing.
