As the UAE marks the first annivers ar y of the “Union Ple dge Day ” on 18th July, the nat ion
refle cts on the pivotal moments that le d to its uni fic a t ion, re call ing the endur ing leg acy of the
found ing father, the late Sheikh Z aye d Bin Sul tan A l Nahyan and his broth ers, the Rulers, whose
his toric d e clar a t ion in 1971 laid the found a t ions for the fe d er a t ion.

the UAE, of fi cially d e clar ing the estab lish ment of the Unite d Arab Emir ates.”
