He added that the UAE’s tourism sector continues its upward trajectory as the country saw over 30
million hotel guests in 2024, boosting hotel revenues of the private sector entities and the country's
reputation as a very welcoming destination.
“Behind every number, there is a receptionist who smiles with pride, a chef who puts artistry on a
plate and a guest relation officer who resolves a problem with grace. The sector is powered by
people, and we want our people, our youth, to take the lead. This is where the UAE hospitality
summer camp plays a transformative role,” the minister said.
He added that the ‘Summer Hospitality Camp 2025’ “answers a long-standing challenge of the gap
between education and employment.”
“Too often, students graduate with degrees but without experience. This camp flips the charts by
offering hands-on training, internships, mentorship and real exposure to the hospitality ecosystem.
We are preparing students for success before they even enter the job market,” he said during the
speech.
Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General elect of the United Nations World Tourism
Organisation for the 2026–2029 and Ayesha Abdulrab AlAfeefi, director of the Tourism Development
Department at the Ministry of Economy, also addressed the press conference on Monday.
Shaikha Nasser also stressed building national capacity in the UAE’s tourism sector.
