Economic diversification journey

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, said the latest GDP results highlight “a renewed and positive
momentum” in the country’s diversification journey.

He reiterated that the UAE’s economic model is increasingly shaped by emerging technologies, sustainable
development, and global connectivity.

“We are moving closer to achieving the UAE’s target of raising GDP to AED3 trillion by the next decade while
reinforcing its position as a global hub for the new economy,” he said.

Hanan Mansour Ahli, Managing Director of the FCSC, added that the country’s economic success is being driven by a
long-term vision focused on sustainable, non-oil-driven growth.

“Diversification is not only a strategy but an operational model,” she said, “with transport, logistics, and infrastructure
acting as critical enablers.”

Construction and building followed transport in terms of sectoral growth, expanding by 8.4%, supported by large-scale
urban and infrastructure projects. Financial and insurance activities grew 7%, while hospitality recorded a 5.7% increase.
