The revised working hours complement the UAE’s broader efforts to safeguard worker
well-being during peak summer heat. From June 15 to September 15, the nationwide
midday break ban prohibits outdoor work between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm. The Ministry

of Human Resources and Emiratisation has begun inspections to ensure compliance, with
fines of up to AED 50,000 for violators.

To further support frontline and delivery workers, the government has also established
more than 10,000 air-conditioned rest stations across the country. Together, these
initiatives reflect a concerted push to adapt workforce policies to seasonal realities while

maintaining productivity and worker health.
