DUBAI (ALETIHAD)
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday, announced the launch of an
initiative by Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the UAE food bank to deliver five million
meals from surplus food.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, His Highness wrote: “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum
today launched an initiative at the UAE Food Bank aimed at providing five million meals
from surplus food, in collaboration with 350 hotels and food establishments in Dubai.
The initiative also involves a team of 5,000 volunteers. 35 million people benefited
from the bank since its inception. Sheikha Hind is an exemplary individual when it
comes to giving back. She is my companion on the path of goodness and a source of
happiness for me, my family, and society as a whole.”
